The temporary suspension was made to minimize any new coronavirus infections in Jeju Island and on the mainland South Korea.

Before the announcement, Philippine passport holders can enter Jeju Island visa-free through direct charter flights and ships. Though this isn’t exactly bad news, foreign travelers will just need to have a valid visa to visit the island similar to the policy of its country’s mainland.
