Dog Sledding in Mongolia with Huskies: A Cold, Fast, Unforgettable Adventure

Out in the frozen wilderness of Mongolia, everything changes the moment you step off the tour bus. The air is biting cold, your breath shows instantly, and all you can hear is wind… and a pack of huskies losing their minds with excitement.

This wasn’t just a Rakso group tour. It felt like stepping into another world, a unique, new, and exciting adventure.

Meeting the huskies: chaos before the calm

The dogs were already ready before I even understood what was happening.

They were barking, jumping, pulling against their harnesses like they were saying, “Let’s go already!”

There was no calm introduction. No slow start. Just energy everywhere.

And then suddenly, I was on the sled.

The moment we took off: pure adrenaline

The second the sled moved, I felt it in my whole body.

No engine. No noise. Just paws hitting snow and the sled gliding like it was floating.

At first, I held on tight, trying to figure out what I was supposed to do.

But there’s really only one rule: don’t fall off… and trust the dogs.

They know where they’re going.

The ride: fast, cold, and surprisingly emotional

There were moments I laughed out loud for no reason and shouted due to the excitement that I was feeling on that sled.

The sled would hit bumps, turn sharply, or speed up, and I’d just hold on thinking, “Okay… this is actually insane.”

My face was freezing. My eyes were watering from the wind. The smile on my face lasted until the end.

I didn’t want it to stop. I wish we could take another lap.

Because there’s something addictive about being pulled forward by pure energy and trust.

What it felt like in the end

When it was over, I just stood there for a moment.

No rush. No talking.

Just that strange feeling of still moving even though I was completely still.

Dog sledding in Mongolia wasn’t just about speed or scenery. It was about trust—trusting the dogs, trusting the moment, and somehow trusting the cold, wild world around you.

And honestly?

I’d do it again in a heartbeat.
