Unleashing Southeast Asia Cruising Experience With Genting Dream

“Oceans stir the heart, inspire the imagination and bring eternal joy to the soul”, Robert Wyland once said. Being one with nature calms our heart and mind, cruising will take you to the next level. I have never imagined myself boarding one of the leading cruise ships in Asia, Genting Dream Cruises, but I guess luck is really on my side for I was given a chance to explore and discover life at sea with Rakso Travel.

Excitement filled my heart knowing that I will be on board Genting Dream for 6 days and 5 nights departing from Singapore and visiting Penang, Langkawi, & Port Klang, Malaysia then Phuket, Thailand. We arrived in Singapore at least 4 hours prior to the check-in schedule on the cruise port. Singapore proves itself to be the Garden City as you will notice the perfectly arranged plants on the road and the manicured public spaces. It only takes us 15 to 20 minutes to reach Marina Bay Cruise Center where we will embark. The port is enormous and well-maintained but you will not be stressed checking in since there are accommodating staffs that are willing to help, plus, the process is very organized.

First Day On-Board Genting Dream

Balcony Stateroom

Once on-board the ship, the first place we went to was our cabin to check our luggage if it was delivered properly. Of course, we will not lose this chance to explore our cabin where we will stay for almost a week. What we have is a Balcony Stateroom lavishly draped with a dash of modern touch in it featuring a private balcony, queen-sized bed, sofa, television installed with movies and cable channels, mini-refrigerator, coffee and tea making area, and a complete set of toiletries that are replaced every day. Seems like I will enjoy staying in this kind of place.

Mandatory Safe Drill is a must-attend event on the cruise prior to sailing. We are required to witness a short presentation upon embarking on our designated assembly station. They will show you short precautionary measures in case of unwanted situations while ashore. Cruise Lines’ top priority is the safety and security of the passengers aside from the leisure that we are about to experience. Might as well allot some of our time to participate in this kind of event on board. This is for our own good after all. After these routines, we already have time for ourselves. A chance to explore the whole ship and familiarize ourselves with its facilities and amenities with their locations because I’m telling you that it is impossible to memorize every part of this extravagant ship in just one day. A welcome party on board is waiting for the passengers on the Main Pool Deck of the ship. Perfect time to meet friends, make acquaintances, create memories and relish the foods and drinks presented from different cuisines.

The Southeast Asia Experience

Penang is one of the famous spots in Malaysia and this is where we are headed for our second day. We do not have an arranged shore excursion (shorex) on this place but there are a lot of locals waiting on the port offering arranged land tours with an English Speaking driver guide and since this is our first time on the city, we decided to hire one and good thing that it only costs us almost five hundred pesos each for the whole day tour. We are greatly amazed by the cultural structures, temples, museums, and street arts.

Wat Chaiyamangalaram Thai Buddhist Temple

The third day stop is on Phuket Patong Bay, Thailand which is the largest island in Thailand showcasing a dramatic white beach, vast entertainment options, and of course, the top-class shopping venues which you will really enjoy. Langkawi, Malaysia is the next stop for this cruise which is a small city but has a lot of destinations and more to offer. Langkawi has a laid-back ambiance that makes it unique and different from the other cities in Malaysia.

Langkawi Permata Kedah

Breathtaking beaches and natural scenery are the reasons why tourists used to visit this place. Some of the highpoints of the island include its soaring peaks with sweeping panoramas as well as its iconic cable car and skybridge.

Last but not least to visit is Port Klang Malaysia, the developed city in the country and the home of the iconic Petronas Twin Towers. A great variety of local foods and the largest malls are also here in the city. Since Selangor is only a 30-minute drive from Port Klang, we were also given a chance to visit the famous Batu Cave with its rainbow-colored stairs and encounter cheeky macaques.

Petronas Twin Tower

One of the most sacred and most cherished Hindu shrines in the world showcasing steep and rainbow-colored stairs with 272 steps. One of the must-see here in Batu caves as it is exceptionally colorful and pleasing to the eyes.

Life at Sea with Genting Dream

To complete this trip, I am sure that you also want to catch a glimpse of the happenings and activities on the cruise while we are at sail. A lot of activities were offered on board and you will never be uninterested in the cruising endeavors. There are live production shows on the Zodiac Theatre by the acclaimed award-winning performers of Dream Cruise and her entertainment team. Stay cool at the swimming pool in the main pool deck. For adventurers, Waterslide Park will set your heart pumping as you get drenched in fun on the different levels of slides. Rock Climbing wall, Rope Course and Zipline are there to let you feel the thrill of gliding above the ocean. Rejuvenate mind, body, and soul with their holistic Western and Asian spa experience on Crystal Life Spa. Splurge on the duty-free shopping on the Dream Boutiques and Souvenir Mart. Nightlife is also not a problem on board because outdoor parties and entertainment activities are available on the Zouk and Zouk Beach Club.

Well if you are a foodie, then I’m certain that you will really like it here. Up to six meals daily are offered during our stay here. Three restaurants are included already in the cruise fare. You may opt to dine at the Dream Dining Room (Upper Deck) that caters Chinese cuisine, Dream Dining Room (Lower Deck) offers Western cuisine, and The Lido serving Indian and international buffets. Craving for a change and a different atmosphere from the usual dining places? You can dine in a modern Japanese restaurant known as Umi Uma where you can enjoy different Japanese foods like teppanyaki meal. You can also try Seafood grill and Prime Steakhouse by Mark Best that offers contemporary western cuisine from the internationally-acclaimed Australian chef.

“Life is better at sea because seawater heals everything” as they say. Maybe not literally but this cruising experience will help you lift your mood for a while but will give you long-lasting memories that you can cherish forever. Escape the city for a moment and indulge with nature by cruising with Genting Dream Cruise.

  1. Is it Important to mention that while creating a register essayusa? No, never construct a document that merely aims to registers. It would be best if students learnt the correct way of ensuring that they only submit the meant reports to their tutors on the final paperwork.
