[TRAVEL TIPS] Fly Safe with Air Asia

As some countries open their borders, and some airlines prepare to fly the skies once more, it’s understandable that you may have questions on your mind. Air Asia is one of those airlines who is preparing for the new normal of flying.  

Here are some safety guidelines by Air Asia to ensure you have a safe journey: 

Use a Mask 

Always wear a mask and maintain social distancing through your journey. Travelers will be required to bring their own mask and wear it properly before, during, and after the flight, including during check-in and bag collection. 

Commute Safely 

Better to start early and ensure that you reach the airport safely.   

Access the Terminal  

As airport authorities will provide new requirements due to the pandemic, it is better to arrive at least 3 hours before departure with sufficient time to complete all formalities and self-declaration forms.  

Temperature Check 

A temperature check will be done before access the terminal building. 

Check-in Counter  

Maintain social distancing during the check-in process. 

Baggage Limits  

Air Asia is now implementing a 1 small carry-on cabin bag per passenger (Laptop bag or handbag or small bag with essentials for infants), 

Boarding Gate 

A temperature check will be done. Please submit the completed self-declaration forms. 

Coach or Aerobridge to Flight 

Follow social distancing for safety precautions while in the aerobridge or commuting in the coach from the terminal building to the flight. 

Departure 

The embarkation process will follow social distancing. Usage of masks inflight is compulsory and alcohol swabs will be available on board for guests. 

In-flight Meals 

To ensure the usage of masks and to minimize contact, In-flight services of meals is temporarily suspended. Water would be available for all guests. 

Arrival 

Please disembark the aircraft in an organized manner by following social distancing norms. 

Baggage Collection 

While following social distancing, keep your masks on and maintain all precautions when collecting your bags and exiting the terminal.
