AMERICAN AIRLINES SERVES MORE DESTINATIONS IN MEXICO, THE CARIBBEAN AND LATIN AMERICA FROM THE U.S





American Airlines serves more destinations in Mexico, the Caribbean and Latin America from the U.S. than any other carrier. And next summer, that list will grow even longer.

Latin America

American Airlines will add its sixth destination in Cuba with a new daily flight from Miami International Airport (MIA) to Antonio Maceo Airport (SCU) in Santiago de Cuba starting May 3. They will also start new service to Durango International Airport (DGO) in Mexico from Dallas Fort Worth International Airport (DFW) starting June 6. American Airlines will be the only U.S. carrier to serve DGO and SCU.

In addition, American Airlines are adding new service to some of its existing international destinations from DFW, Miami International Airport (MIA), Charlotte Douglas International Airport, NC (CLT) and New York - LaGuardia Airport (LGA).

American Airlines also plans to increase service from its largest hub at DFW. They will add new service to Valley International Airport (HRL) in Harlingen, Texas, beginning March 3, 2019 and add seven new domestic routes from DFW:

Beginning March 3, new daily, year-round service:
  • DFW to Augusta, GA (AGS)
  • DFW to Gainesville, FL (GNV)
  • DFW to Yuma, AZ (YUM)
  • DFW to Bakersfield, CA (BFL)
Beginning April 2, new daily service:
  • DFW to Monterey, CA (MRY) seasonal
  • DFW to Flagstaff, AZ (FLG) year-round
  • DFW to Burbank, CA (BUR) year-round
American Airlines will also operate the following new routes next year:

Beginning Feb. 14, new daily service:
  • Reagan National Airport (DCA) in Washington, D.C. to Oklahoma City, OK (OKC)
  • LGA to Knoxville, Tennessee (TYS)
  • John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK) to San Antonio, TX (SAT)
Beginning Apr. 2, new daily service:
  • LAX to Tulsa, OK (TUL)
Beginning June 8, new seasonal service:
  • CLT to Traverse City, MI (TVC)

All new routes announced today will be available for sale Oct. 8.
